The BMW S55 is a 3.0 – liter inline-six, twin turbocharged petrol engine. This engine is built with a closed-deck engine block, forged crankshaft, lightweight pistons and a twin-core intercooler the S55 is engineered for both strength and performance. Equipped with a twin mono-scroll turbocharger it delivers a rapid boost response it also features a Valvetronic variable valve timing and Double-VANOS, setting it apart from the twin turbo setup. The S55 engine comes equipped with a 3.0L- inline 6 engines that uses two mono scroll-turbocharges. This is used in M division vehicles including the F80 M3, F82 M4 and F87 M2 Competition.
